The Alaskan king crab legs are products from one of the most famous and largest crabs in the oceans.  These legs are part of the crab section of the Cape Porpoise Lobster Co. Inc. that includes the Maine Rock Lobster as well.  The Alaskan King Crab legs are frozen to preserver the freshness of the crabs.

Inc. the Alaskan King Crab is purchased directly from the fishermen who have gone out and collected them from the bottom of the ocean.  From there, the sea food is washed and processed at the FDA HACCP approved plant that is independently owned the Cape Porpoise Lobster Co. Inc.  All of this is done to help to preserve the freshness of the Alaskan King Crab meat and to provide the best and most consistent meat around.  

To help to ensure the quality of the fresh Alaskan king crab, the crab is flash froze as soon as the legs and claws leave the body of the crab.  This helps to lock in all of the great juices that one finds in the fresh crab while making it possible to ship the crab meat.  Fresh frozen Alaskan King crab tastes just as good as fresh Alaskan King crab but is often safer because of the flash freezing process.
